Tournament Details:
• Over the period of 12 (twelve) rounds of play, players will be paired against each other in a two-player Head-to-Head game format using Swiss Pairing (a simple attempt will be made to pick opponents that haven't been faced before in the tournament, but only among players who are tied). It is normal for a player to play against the same opponent multiple times when using Swiss Pairing.
• Each game won results in a point earned, loser receives zero points, and any ‘bye’ receives a half point. At the end of the 12 rounds, the top 4 players awarded the most points will win prizes. 1st place wins a brand-new Stern Translite and 2nd through 4th place each win cash.
• The Pinhall opens at 3:00pm and the tournament will begin at 6:30pm. The tournament continues until all 12 rounds of pinball play has completed (estimated up to 3 hours)
• The max number of rounds will be 12. The total number of rounds may be less, dependent upon the total number of registered players.
• Tie-Breakers will be broken using a calculation that determines the strength of the opponents faced by each player, using the Median-Buchholz and Solkoff system (ranks players by summing their opponents' final scores, excluding the highest and lowest scores to reduce distortions).
• If a tie-breaker still remains, any tied players will play a single game, where the winner breaks the tie.
